Making art is just another way of making sense of our lives.

 

 Hi, I am Krittika and Artkrittique is my brainchild. I am an illustrator and graphic designer from New Delhi, India, currently based in Baltimore, United States.

People often ask me what inspires me to make what I do, and it's always been the small moments of Everyday Happiness. I often notice how things like rays of sunlight bouncing off a window, or my dog snuggled up on my blue couch, brings me immense joy, and I attempt to capture those moments in my art.My work often weaves in South Asian visual language and folklore, aiming to make thoughtful, intimate art that feels both personal and universal.

 

My work has received wide recognition, winning the Communication Arts Award of Excellence, a Creative Quarterly ‘79 Award of Excellence, 3×3 Annual Award of Excellence and being named a Selected Winner in American Illustration 44.

My illustrations has been exhibited internationally and showcased in public spaces, including a curated display through Baltimore’s Public Art program. In addition to my studio practice, I teach art and illustration to graduate and undergraduate students, and continue to develop independent publications and cross-disciplinary collaborations.

I like to experiment with different mediums once in a while, and am someone whose works reflect her unique perspective and ideas. I also love all things colorful and pattern-isc and believe that my Indian roots have played a massive role in shaping my art.

When not making art, you would find me enjoying a nice cup of coffee and reading!
